- Divers certified between the ages of 10-14 earn a Junior Diver certification
- Junior Open Water Divers automatically become Open Water Divers at age 15.

The PADI Open Water Diver Course takes you through the adventure of learning to dive. If you think you’re in for a lot of classroom work, forget it. After a short briefing you can actually begin with your first pool dive and then straight in to the ocean, utilizing independent study and PADI’s latest teaching aids will keep classroom time to a minimum. You couldn’t ask for anywhere better to learn to dive. You’ll be in the hands of capable, experienced dive instructors.
On the FOUR open water dives you’ll interact with some of the most diverse and unusual marine life seen anywhere in the world. Apart from mastering diving skills your instructor will make sure you learn something about the environment you’re in. During your four training dives you will get a chance to do beach and boat diving on different fantastic dive sites. The certification you receive lasts a lifetime! Complete the course in stages or in one go.

How long does a PADI course take?
The required steps to become a certified diver are flexible and performance based. For new divers, an Open Water Diver certification on average takes 3-5 days.

What scuba gear will you use?
In the PADI Open Water Diver course, you learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device and a tank. The equipment you wear varies, depending upon whether you’re diving in tropical, temperate or cold water.
